Thank you for stopping by our website! My name is Scott Ziegler, and I have the honor of serving as Chair of the Southeast AGOYO board this year. You may have noticed our name change: SERCYO (Southeast Regional Chapter for Young Organists) is now AGOYO-SE (AGO Young Organists - Southeast). The new name rebrands us as a regional committee, rather than a chapter. Because we function on the regional level, this change is a positive one in many ways. Our board grew from three members in 2015-2016 to six in 2016-2017. Our board members live in different places and represent different factions of the AGOYO population. We are Protestant and Catholic, Student and Professional, and have unique backgrounds that help us cater to all members. If you are interested in being active with AGOYO, all it takes is a quick message to one of the board members.
We have a number of exciting programs for the 2016-2017 year, as outlined below:
A little about me: I received my Master of Music degree from the University of Florida in May of 2016 and I am employed as full-time Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, Florida, an historic congregation of 1,500+ members with a fabulous 60-rank Austin Organ. When I'm not practicing I can be found frolicking through Walt Disney World, napping under a palm tree along the gulf beaches, or crawling through Ybor city. If you ever visit Orlando or Tampa, stop by to play our instrument! I am always glad to welcome guests. And of course, you can always email me, or any other officer, with questions, suggestions, input, or if you just need a friend to talk to!
