Welcome to the home-base of all activities and projects of AGOYO-Southeast!
In 2015 Kevin Neel, Matthew Burt, and then President John Walker, along with the regional councillors created "Regional Chapters for Young Organists." Each of these chapters would comprise of AGO members under age 30- in their respective regions. A board of 3-4 members within each region was chosen to lead the project: a Dean, Sub-Dean, Secretary, and some with a Member-At-Large. In 2016 these chapters have been reorganized as regional committees, titled "AGOYO" for AGO Young Organists. Now in 2017, with Jillian Gardner as Convener for the AGOYO, each board has approximately 5 members represented across their region.
Our primary goal in this initiative is to connect young organists across the region, country, and world. Each region offers programs and projects focusing on their own region, but accessible to any AGOYO member throughout the world. Any AGO member under age 30 is automatically included in AGOYO.
Take some time to explore our projects. 2017-2018 promises to be an exciting year for young organists everywhere. With new leadership and with experienced members now all on the board, we can't wait to make this year the best yet! If you have comments and suggestions, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or directly on the "Contact" page. Be sure to connect with us on Facebook at AGOYoungOrganists and check out leaders around the country at agoyo.org. Add us as Facebook friends (but send a message so we know who you are). Submit any events you are involved with to our website for publication, and share the link with your friends and relatives. As young organists we must make our presence known; use our website to aid the initiative.
